Texting for Customer Feedback

Text campaigns are a great way to gather feedback about how your customers perceive your product or service. You can learn a lot just by asking simple questions. The input you get may help you figure out what is working well, and (more importantly) what is not, so you can adjust your business operations or sales strategy.

In fact, we like this idea so much that we use it here at Notify. So don't be surprised when you get a text from us asking for your own thoughts!

You can ask for feedback a few different ways, but here are 2 approaches you could try:

(1) Just ask for comments

This one is easy. Just send a text campaign to ask your customers something about your business, and see what they say back. Here are a couple examples:

Hi, this is Jane's Bakery. We're working on a new menu for next year and want to make sure you'll enjoy it. What is your favorite kind of cookie?

Hi, this is Joe's Barbershop. We want to make sure we're providing the best service for our loyal customers. Please reply to let us know how you liked your last haircut. Is there anything we could have done better?

(2) Send a 1-question survey

Surveys are great to get quick and specific feedback from customers. Unlike asking for general comments, surveys help you quantify customer sentiment. Here is one example of how to structure a 1-question survey:

Hi, this is Jane's Bakery. Please reply with the letter that corresponds to your favorite kind of cookie:

A) Chocolate Chip

B) Oatmeal Raisin

C) Peanut Butter

D) Other (please tell us which kind)

Good luck trying out a customer feedback text campaign! Please write to us if you need any additional help, or have an idea you want to share.
